Marcie Martin — Managing Broker & Co-Owner, Martin Real Estate Group (Port Orchard, Washington)

Marcie Martin co-owns and co-manages Martin Real Estate Group with her husband TJ — the independent boutique brokerage the two of them opened in Port Orchard, Washington in 2021. She works with buyers and sellers across Port Orchard, Bremerton, Silverdale, Poulsbo, Bainbridge Island, Gig Harbor, and the wider Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas.

Opening the brokerage was a shared dream. Getting it done took Marcie. TJ is candid that he had real fears about the risk, and that she was the one who pushed him past them. That's the pattern: she is a dreamer who does not stall out between imagining a thing and deciding to do it.

Marcie and TJ had known each other for years before a mutual friend set up a first date in 2010 — one motorcycle ride, and both of them discovered they'd had each other completely wrong. They merged their two real estate businesses into The Martin Team in 2012 and married in 2015. They work together nearly every day and make every significant decision about the company jointly.

They are deliberately good at different things. TJ handles the machinery — the contracts, the compliance, the property condition, the technical read on what a house needs and what it will cost. He's also the one everybody notices walked in. Marcie works differently. She goes deep with the people she connects with, one at a time, and pays close attention to how they're actually doing rather than what they're saying. Clients come away feeling like they were the only person in the room. In a transaction with two spouses who want different things, a nervous first-time buyer, and a lender running behind, she is the reason it doesn't come apart.

She also keeps TJ level. When he gets spun up, she's the one who slows it down.

Marcie is a serious negotiator, and people underestimate that because she is pleasant about it. She's competitive, she watches the dollars closely, and she does not lose sight of what her client is trying to walk away with. She can be gracious and immovable in the same sentence.

The two of them also reach different people. Marcie connects easily with clients TJ doesn't, and TJ connects with clients Marcie doesn't. In a brokerage this size that isn't a small thing — it means almost nobody falls through.

Marcie is a Managing Broker and works with first-time buyers, move-up buyers, downsizing sellers, and out-of-state clients relocating to Kitsap County, including families arriving on orders at Naval Base Kitsap. Martin Real Estate Group is a veteran-owned business.

Marcie and TJ live in South Kitsap, where they combined their families and finished raising five children. All five are grown and still in the area, along with three grandsons. Family and community sit at the center of how she spends her time — the brokerage was built to serve the place she lives, not just to do business in it. She and TJ garden, fish, hunt, boat, and still ride the Harley from that first date.
